8 Home Remedies for Acne

1. Honey

Pure honey helps to destroy the bacteria that cause acne.

2. Grapes

Grapes are wonderful as a dietary treat and are high in Vitamin C, but they also work great as a home remedy to treat acne. Take a few (fresh and chilled) grapes and cut each in half, then rub the grape flesh directly over the affected area. After about 15 minutes, wash your face with cold water.

3. Garlic

Another option would be to boil about 4 cloves in one pint of water, when the water has reduced (by half), dip a clean cloth or cotton ball into the solution and apply to acne.

4. Egg White Wash

Egg whites not only unclog the pores, but may also reduce the redness that accompanies acne breakouts. Before bedtime, apply the egg white wash to your face (and other affected areas) and wash your face in the morning. It is important to keep this “facial” away from your eyes and mouth.

5. Olive Oil

6. Toothpaste

7. Cucumber / Yogurt Facial Mask

Blend a small cucumber to a paste like texture and mix with one teaspoon of plain (high quality) yogurt. Apply this homemade facial mask to the skin affected with acne and leave it on for a minimum of 30 minutes and then wash it completed off.

8. Oatmeal Facial

An oatmeal facial is not only soothing, but is effective in clearing acne. Simply mix 2 teaspoons of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon baking soda and water (enough to create a paste-like texture). Rub this mixture onto your face and then rinse off.
